C.M. (Chuck) Baumgart, P. Eng. – is a professional engineer with over 22 years experience in the energy industry. He brings a wealth of experience to MEML through his work experience, both in production and reservoir engineering, and in natural gas and power marketing. During his eight years as a production engineer, Chuck gained a thorough understanding of the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and has hands on experience with production operations, well performance and the concerns surrounding North American supply. Mr. Baumgart’s natural gas marketing experience crosses the horizon from the early days of deregulation to the demise of the mega marketer. During this period, Chuck held several senior positions within the marketing groups of Canadian oil & gas producers. He has been involved in all aspects of the natural gas industry including gas operations, gas procurement and marketing, contract negotiations, business development, acquisitions and divestments, and corporate risk management. He has an excellent working knowledge of the Canadian and U.S. Midwest and Northeast markets including storage and pipeline infrastructure and is thoroughly versed with the regulatory climate. Mr. Baumgart’s power marketing experience, including project development, supply-demand analysis, contract negotiations and price risk management provide MEML with the necessary tools to incorporate the North American power market into its' view of the natural gas market.
